This month will be a shorter than normal newsletter, as I had to put it together quickly. I’ve been working feverously to finish the last draft of Mayhem in Music City before sending it off to my editor. An lo and behold, I emailed the draft to Tina last Thursday. I still have a faint chance of getting the book out this year. December 31st being the release date I’m shooting for. We’ll see if I can squeeze it in, but quality comes first. If not, it will be out in January or February 2026.
Mayhem in Music City will be the 11th book in the Jarvis Mann PI series. The story taking him to Nashville. I should have a preview chapter ready for next month’s newsletter, possibly a look at the cover and maybe pre-order links. For now, here is small blurb, providing a teaser.
Private eye Jarvis Mann travels to Nashville to help a friend guard a multi-platinum country music duo, Rule of Law. Danger afoot, when the lead member of their security team is severely beaten and another man is murdered. Jarvis soon finds he is embroiled in multiple complex issues. From family drama leading to blackmail, to an overjealous and corrupt government agent, and men hell-bent on putting the private eye in the hospital. Jarvis discovering music, mayhem and murder don’t mix.
With the new book, one of the key female characters, Sam Montana, returns.One of several who’ve graced the pages of the 11 books, many appearing in several of the plots. Love interests like Melissa Diaz, Emily White and April Rainn. Women who are friends and acquaintances, like Sam Montana, Sue and Nia Opal. All these women are strong characters. Melissa a Legal Assistant, who later on becomes a lawyer. April Rainn a Denver police officer. Sam a former army Lieutenant, who ran the Mission of the Invisible Souls, before transitioning to a security guard for Walled Security in the new book. Sue Opal now the head of Sparks Enterprises, a Colorado construction empire. Like all my characters, I hope to capture their good and challenging traits. None of them with angel wings. These ladies are smart, tough and formidable, and occasionally dangerous.
