One challenge for any author is keeping their website up-to-date. Especially those of us who handle all the work ourselves. I know with my old site, there were times I’d go back and look and realize I’d not even added my latest book anywhere on the site. I see this is true of other author websites, where information is often out-of-date, so I’m not alone. I will be working hard to keep all the latest news and information posted for everyone to view.
One task I did accomplish was getting most of my older newsletters migrated over. I initially had issues where the photos and links to the photos weren’t moving over. After a lot of research, I found someone had a similar issue with one of the WordPress plug-ins which I was using. Once it was deactivated, his problem was resolved. I followed the steps and sure enough this fixed my issue too. Right now the blogs on the new website go back to September of 2020. I may move over the rest in the future when time allows.

We had a wonderful time in South Dakota for the Wild Deadwood Reads author event, followed by a family vacation. Dakota got to join us this year, along with Nuka and Abby, as you can see by the picture above. I’ve included a few more pictures below, including this years Little Free Library built and painted by my in-laws, Danny and Linda . The lucky winner of the raffle also getting over 90 books donated by authors at the event. And you can find more on the Events and Fun Stuff pages of the new website.

The Wild Deadwood Reads author event each year puts out a book anthology of original stories from authors. The only caveat, is the story must be set in Deadwood South Dakota, in any time period. This year there were so many authors with stories, that there were two anthologies. I was one of those authors and my story, Adrift and Out of Time in Deadwood, featuring my private eye, Jarvis Mann, was included in Wild in Deadwood Volume 2. Below you see me holding the book outside of Saloon Number 10, where Wild Bill Hickok was shot, which might give you a clue of what my story is about. I have four copies of the book available to purchase for $25 plus shipping (US Only) via my Book Store, with autographs from most of the writers who contributed. Unfortunately a couple authors had to cancel their trip to the event and I couldn’t get them to sign. You can also purchase paperback and eBook versions via Amazon and most other book retailers. Below my picture is a synopsis of the 9 stories in the over 500 page paperback.

Numerous new 5-star reviews have been pouring in for Justice For The Forgotten . Here are a few of the most recent ones.
Unique Cold Case Story: This story was a unique take on the classic cold case mystery. It is an action packed story filled with emotion. Donnie is a very likeable character, and you can’t help but feel for him and his pain. He uses his grief to throw himself into this case to try and solve it – HPLovinMama6
Just the beginning, yet so intense: Some cases are closed, yet some are pushed aside and forgotten. Traveling the world in his RV Donnie and Kogel, his faithful K9, go in search of the Forgotten cases. Colorado is where he is headed to find answers to a 3 year old case that had been botched. Why? Who is hiding what? Read along as Donnie works this intense case. The author has a way with telling his story. The story is well written and sucks you in. One you just can’t put down. The story is fast paced and the author leaves nothing out. This is going to be another amazing series. I can hardly wait to see where the author takes his readers next – Cinful
So Much More Than A Mystery!: This is the first book in the Steel Wheels Cold Mystery Series, and it is absolutely astounding! I’d read one book by this author before and fell head over heels for it, so this was a no-brainer for me. It’s an emotional journey that gripped me from the very first page and never let go. This author has expertly crafted not only the storyline, but the characters as well. They feel relatable yet unique and I found myself invested in them immediately. Donnie is a widower and a retired police officer that finds himself in quite a mysterious predicament. It’s intense, dramatic, and full of Donnie’s relentless determination which makes for an unbelievable rollercoaster of a ride. If you’re looking for a crime thriller that contains plenty of emotion, redemption, and justice, this should already be in your hands. I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series as I’m sure it will be just as incredible if not more so! _ Shannen

I’m a little slow getting out the newsletter this month, as I was busy last week looking at cars. We flat tow are 2006 Honda CRV (all four-wheels on the ground) behind our motorhome. There are currently very few new vehicles you can flat tow, mostly because many car manufacturers have gone to CVT transmissions. And none of those new models we like. We love the Honda CRV’s, but the last model year you can flat tow was 2014. So we decided to look at the used car market to find a used, low mileage, well maintained 2014 CRV. Which was a challenge. But we finally found one, and sold our 2006 model for a good price. Now we need to setup the 2014 for flat towing for next year, which requires the installation of a base plate. We’ve only had it a week, but so far are thrilled with the purchase.

I received a wonderful email from Charles, stating: “If I was a millionaire, I would buy EVERYONE of your books. I now own five (the divine devils series) and loved every one of them. Now I have loaned them to my kids to read. They are hooked too. Keep up the good work.” Thanks to Charles for the email. It’s always great to know your work is appreciated and enjoyed. You can always send me an email, for I love to hear from readers.

I may not say it enough, but thanks for the support through the years. The books you buy and read, the reviews you post and the comments you send me make the many hours of work all worthwhile. Until next month, stay cool, as summer is in full bloom!!
All the Best!!
