The past several weeks around our neigborhood has been noisy. First it was Google Fiber going into the ground on the streets outside our home. Then it was a sidewalk improvement project, where old sidewalks were jackhammered and then ripped out of the ground. New cement laid for the sidewalks. When the sidewalks were torn out, the new Google Fiber cabling was ripped out as well. Word is, the cable had been installed too close to the sidewalk. Then several new sidewalk sections were jackhammered and ripped out again for some unknown reason and once more replaced with new cement. This included the entry way to our driveway and damage to the wall which surrounds our front yard. Thankfully they got the wall back in place, though not without some damage to some of the bricks. Now Google is back installing fiber again. The noise has been mind numbing. Hopefully the end is on the horizon. Here are a few pictures from before and after.

This month I’ll highlight another of my main characters. Forced to take jobs wherever he can find them, Hunter drinks heavily and sleeps with any woman who’ll have him. His life a mess until he receives a message from a past love, asking for his help. Someone has been trying to kidnap her two children. The woman a CEO of a alternative energy company desperate for his help. Hunter running off to Colorado Springs, where he puts together a team to protect the children, while he investigates. Hunter is tough, smart and troubled. Fighting his internal demons everyday, including the brutal murder of the young man, one he knows he could do nothing to stop. Hunter and his team of Divine Devils willing to Move Heaven and Hell. The Divine Devils thriller series, is four books long, the first two winners of the Silver Falchion Award for Best Thriller. You can purchase ebooks and paperbacks on Amazon, as well as signed paperback copies through my Book Store.

If you enjoy audiobooks, the first two books, The Divine Devils and Fallen Star: The Divine Devils Book 2 are available in audio format through Audible/Amazon. Narrated by Phillip Polite, who does an excellent job. Phillip and I recently agreed to have him produce the final two books in the series starting early next year. But for now be sure to check out books one and two. I do have codes for both books, if you have an Audible account. Send me an email and let me know your interest. I do ask that a honest review be posted in return for the codes. If you have Audible credits you can find both on Amazon.

Justice For The Forgotten continues to get high praise, with many more wonderful reviews.
I absolutely recommend this right out the gate for anyone looking for just a truly engrossing read, Weir flawlessly blends suspense, justice, and emotional turmoil. An incredible well-written and addictive page turner, this author does not disappoint, as there are so many twists, turns, and surprises! I highly look forward to reading more of Donnie Steele! – Finn
This story was a unique take on the classic cold case mystery. It is an action packed story filled with emotion. Donnie is a very likeable character, and you can’t help but feel for him and his pain. He uses his grief to throw himself into this case to try and solve it – Crystal
Read along as Donnie works this intense case. The author has a way with telling his story. The story is well written and sucks you in. One you just can’t put down. The story is fast paced and the author leaves nothing out. This is going to be another amazing series. I can hardly wait to see where the author takes his readers next – Cindy

And I’m thrilled to announce Justice For The Forgotten received the Bronze Medal for the best Fiction-Mystery-Murder book of 2025 from Readers’ Favorite.

Order your copy via my Book Store today before they are gone. If I don’t sell out, I’ll have the remaining copies available at future craft fairs. The book is also available on Amazon in eBook and paperback.

A quick update on my next books. I got a little stalled for a while there on the next Jarvis Mann book. So I started writing the next Donnie Steel Cold Mystery, getting a few chapters completed, since the beginning of the book was burning a hole in my brain! Once it was written, I got back to the new Jarvis book and have picked up the pace. I’m still hoping to have it done and released before the end of the year. With the next Donnie Steel book to follow in 2026. I will keep you updated on my progress. And I will be looking for more early readers, often called ARC (Advance Reader Copy) teams, to read and review the book in advance of the release. If you’re interested send me an email.
My trip to Nashville for the Killer Nashville Writers Conference was a great success. I got to meet many friends and make new ones. Lot’s of great panels, including the one I moderated on Writing Like A Pantser. We even had two of the guests of honors, Sara Paretsky and Caitlin Rother sing with the band at the awards ceremony, which was a real treat. As a bonus I got to spend a lot of time with my daughter Dakota. Here are a few pictures and you can find more on my Author Events page.

The holiday craft show season is on the horizon. One event I planned on attending at Dakota Ridge High School, moved the date to a week later, which conflicted with the Mollie McGees Fall Show. So I had to back out of that event. I won’t be doing as many as in past years, since attendance and sales have been down. Not only for myself but many other vendors. I’ll start off with the Goodguys Car Show and Craft Fair in Loveland Colorado. Three days of classic cars which I love to drool over. The three days are September 5th, 6th and 7th. If you love looking at restored classic cars, this is a must attend event and while you’re there you’ll be able to see a lot of hand crafted items, including all my books available to purchase. You can find all my future events listed at the bottom of this newsletter and on the Events Page of my website.

It’s been a few of months, but I wanted to get back to my monthly Featured Author segment . This month it’s Greg Buck. As a native of Colorado, Greg Buck resides in Westminster with his wife and dogs. He graduated from MSU in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and became a software engineer for the next 31 years. Fly fishing, archery and riding his motorcycle kept his sanity in check. His writing is action-packed and addictive, full of plot twists and curveballs aplenty. Currently, he has two series and a standalone novel available. The first and completed Milkman series is a thrilling ride that follows Jesse and his rather unusual and challenging progression through life as a milkman. Obsolete Shadows is a standalone psychological thriller that was born from an awakening nightmare. His editor replied, “I think it’s brilliant! It’s such a wonderful, unique story idea.” Continuing the Hunds series due to an overwhelming response, he is working on the sixth book of this mystical thriller series about a family chosen to protect the fauna, not by choice, but rather at birth. They have a spiritual link with canines, who help them in their daunting quest to save endangered species. You can find Greg’s books on his Amazon Page.

As I wrap up this month, a quick reminder about the 10% Coupon Code which is good on any book purchased through my Book Store. Just enter the code: JARVIS when checking out and the discount will be applied to your order. No limit. This code will be good until 12/31/25 and can be shared with anyone who interested in signed paperbacks. If you have issues send an email to my Sales Address.
Thanks so much for your support. I hope you have a wonderful September as we transition into fall. Who knows, here in Colorado we might be talking snow before the month is over.
All the best!!
R. Weir
